Excuses are worth less than nothing.

It’s the most important thing you can do.
By John Muldoon
1. Trust Yourself
No matter what anyone else thinks. Figure out who you want to be. Not what, but who.
2. Break the rules.
3. Don’t Be Afraid To Fail
4. Don’t Listen To The Naysayers
Pay no attention to the people who say things can’t be done.
5. Work Your Ass Off
Leave no stone unturned. Mohhammid Ali said he doesn’t count his situps until they start hurting.
6. Find a way to give something back!
By John Muldoon
Wow. I’m pretty embarrassed to publish this… but I’m guilty of obsessing over my problems instead of actually solving them. It’s really self indulgent to pity yourself and feel sorry for yourself, but it’s much more important to respect yourself and work hard toward fixing things in your life.

No more waiting.
No more missing out on something because you did nothing.
No more hesitation.
Like my grandfather said, take advantage of opportunities.
By John Muldoon
When it comes right down to it, I mean when it comes down to the people that have truly mattered to me in my life, there isn’t really a question of what I would or wouldn’t do. There is no such thing as an obstacle. No such thing as time or distance or space that can come between us. There is nothing but what we decide to share. And that has been the most important thing I’ve ever known in my life.
I don’t care how hard it is. I really don’t give a fuck.
All that matters to me is that I see you again.
And I will.

“I lost nothing.”
Even after suffering an adverse event, Seneca would say “nihil perditi,” meaning I lost nothing, for all his goods were within him.

This essay by Kobe Bryant is fucking badass.
’Tis not too late to seek a newer world.
Push off, and sitting well in order smite
The sounding furrows; for my purpose holds
To sail beyond the sunset, and the baths
Of all the western stars, until I die.
It may be that the gulfs will wash us down:
It may be we shall touch the Happy Isles,
And see the great Achilles, whom we knew.
Tho’ much is taken, much abides; and tho’
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.
– Ulysses by Tennyson

As you move through the world, know that the ground will not always be solid beneath your feet.
It doesn’t matter though, because you are nimble.
You can jump and shift and move with grace from one place to the next. Always looking out for yourself. Always moving closer to where you want to be.
Nothing can knock you off course, because you can change course on a dime.
In a world of uncertainty, agility is more valuable than power or speed.
